Title: "Return of the Prodigal Son"
Scripture inspiration: Read Luke 15:11-31
The Bible story of the prodigal son, found in Luke 15:11-32, tells of a man with two sons. The younger son asks for his share of the inheritance and leaves home, wasting his wealth recklessly. When everything is spent, a famine strikes, and he finds himself working in a pigsty. Desperate and hungry, he decides to return home and ask his father for forgiveness, offering to be his father's servant.
The father sees him coming from afar, filled with joy and compassion, and runs to meet him. He welcomes his son with open arms and arranges a grand feast, saying that the son who was lost is now found, and the one who was dead is alive again. The older son, who has always been faithful and worked at home, feels unfairly treated and angry. The father explains to him that they must celebrate because the lost son has returned.
The story emphasizes the importance of forgiveness and grace and the joy over a sinner's repentance.
