Some moments of faith begin without certainty.
Not with answers, but with a step.

Fishing Comes First was created during a season when financial uncertainty brought a simple realization: everything is ultimately in God’s hands. In that place, control gave way to trust, and the question became not how provision would come, but who truly provides.

Inspired by Matthew 17:24–27, this painting reflects a quiet passage where obedience comes before provision. Peter is asked to act before he sees the outcome, and the miracle is revealed only in motion.

This work holds the sacred tension between promise and fulfillment,
between trust and understanding.

The luminous center symbolizes divine provision — present, yet unseen — while the surrounding movement speaks of faith expressed through action. It is a reminder that God often meets us not in waiting, but in willingness.

This painting invites stillness, reflection, and courage:
to step forward, even when the way is not yet clear.

Scripture inspiration:  “What do you think, Simon? From whom do earthly kings collect tariffs or taxes? From their sons or from strangers? ” “From strangers,” he said. “Then the sons are free,” Jesus told him. “But, so we won’t offend them, go to the sea, cast in a fishhook, and take the first fish that you catch. When you open its mouth you’ll find a coin. Take it and give it to them for me and you.”  Mat 17:25-27
